Overview

Grandview Nursing & Rehab Center is located in New Britain, CT and has an exciting opportunity available for a PRN Occupational Therapist (OT) to join their new in-house therapy team!

 

Position Summary:

The Occupational Therapist is responsible for evaluating residents, developing treatment plans, and delivering therapeutic interventions that promote independence in activities of daily living (ADLs), mobility, and overall function.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program (OTD, MOT, or BSOT).

  • Current State Occupational Therapist license (or eligible).

  • Current CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting is preferred but not required.

  • Passion for working with elderly and post-acute populations.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform occupational therapy evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans to address functional limitations.

  • Provide direct treatment to residents to improve motor skills, coordination, cognitive function, and ability to perform ADLs.

  • Educate residents, families, and caregivers on therapy goals, adaptive techniques, and use of assistive devices.

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure continuity of care and optimal outcomes.

  • Document evaluations, treatment sessions, and resident progress in accordance with regulatory and facility guidelines.

  • Participate in discharge planning, care conferences, and team meetings as needed.

  • Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) and provide clinical guidance as appropriate.
