Porter
Grandview Rehab is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Porter to join our team at our skilled nursing facility. The Porter plays a key role in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized environment for residents, staff, and visitors. This position supports housekeeping, maintenance, and facility operations to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and safety are met.
-Preferably a high school graduate or equivalent.
-Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English and follow oral and written instructions.
-Ability to work cooperatively with supervisors, co-workers, and facility staff in the performance of
-Ability to observe proper safety and sanitary techniques.
-Ability to work scheduled hours based on the needs and requirements of the position.
-Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday and use proper body mechanics, including bending, stooping, turning, stretching, and reaching above the shoulders.
-Must be able to cope with the mental, emotional, and physical stress of the position.
-Must be able to see and hear to ensure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
-Must be able to function independently and demonstrate flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability
to work effectively with residents, personnel, support agencies, and outside agencies.
-Must be in good health and demonstrate emotional stability.
-Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and sometimes
hostile individuals within the facility.
-Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds.
-Must have finger, hand, leg, and arm dexterity.
-Maintains cleanliness of assigned areas throughout the facility.
-Cleans bowls, sink walls, exposed pipes, and other facility fixtures.
-Washes floors and other areas as needed to maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment.
-Keeps storage closets and supply areas in good order and secured at all times.
-Moves furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed.
-Requests supplies as necessary and ensures materials are maintained in adequate supply and properly labeled containers.
-Assists in maintaining a safe and sanitary environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
-Performs other duties as assigned by the Plant Operations Supervisor.
