Maintenance Director
Grandview is seeking an experienced and reliable Maintenance Director to oversee the day-to-day maintenance operations of our skilled nursing facility. The ideal candidate will ensure a safe, compliant, and well-maintained environment for our residents, staff, and visitors while maintaining compliance with all State of Connecticut Department of Public Health (DPH), Life Safety Code, and regulatory requirements.
Prior maintenance experience in a healthcare facility, nursing home, or hospital preferred
Knowledge of Life Safety Code and healthcare regulatory compliance strongly preferred
Experience with boilers, HVAC systems, and generators
Ability to perform minor plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs
Strong organizational and documentation skills
Supervisory or management experience preferred
On-call availability for emergencies
Supervise all building maintenance and repair functions
Maintain compliance with Life Safety Code (LSC), OSHA, CMS, and CT DPH regulations
Oversee the preventative maintenance program for the facility, equipment, and grounds
Manage the work order system and ensure the timely completion of requests
Coordinate inspections, testing, and documentation (fire alarm, sprinkler, generators, elevators, emergency lighting, etc.)
Maintain emergency preparedness and disaster plans, including fire drills
Manage outside vendors and contractors
Monitor and maintain HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems
Oversee snow removal, grounds maintenance, and general facility appearance
Maintain logs and documentation required for surveys and audits
Participate in state surveys and plans of correction as needed
Manage maintenance department staff and schedules
Monitor departmental budget and supplies
